Unlike most floor coverings, wood floors are a long-term investment that, correctly maintained, will last the lifetime of the home. Fortunately for consumers, today’s wood floors offer a wide spectrum of product options that are easy to maintain. The routine maintenance involves protecting the finish from scratches and moisture.
Routine cleaning involves sweeping, dust mopping, or vacuuming using the bare floor setting to remove dust and dirt. The more that dirt and grit are allowed to accumulate, the more they will be tracked over the floor, leaving scratches. Be especially attentive to potential spill areas, such as dishwashers, sinks, ice makers and stove tops. Clean spills immediately with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Don't use wet mops, steam mops, or any cleaning solutions that will leave a contaminating residue on the floor. which will damage the finish and the wood over long periods of time.
We recommend a deep floor clean and/or re-oil in which we can provide every 2 to 4 years depending on your flooring needs. Should you have any questions at any time regarding your Hardwood floor care, please do not hesitate to reach out.
